My service is very particular to your product or service. Most of my clients are small businesses where cash-flow is paramount. Being able to outsource this part of the business is often a major relief for them. This allows them to be the ‘good guy’ and get on with servicing their clients. To be able to draw ‘a line in the sand’ and clearly delegate the debtor responsibility to someone such as myself ends the constant manipulative chatter that invariably weighs on the business relationship.
I often hear myself explaining that ‘I hassle’ our clients ‘in the nicest possible way’. I want to keep the lines of communication open and I walk a fine line between hearing their needs and holding them true to the integrity of your business transaction. It really is a training situation. They have been allowed to get into a bad habit and I am simply and tenaciously going to assist them to drop that bad habit and abide by the standard agreed credit terms. A process that requires energy, diplomacy, professionalism & tenacity.
