People read 30% slower on screen and spend an average of 5 seconds on copy before they move in or away. Not much time to make an impression. The marketing content needs to be benefit driven and simple, using active language.
The process of creating productive web copy involves questions, brainstorming with a 1st and 2nd draft. Some clients know exactly what they want, some aren’t sure, and others still – have no idea. This is perfectly normal and expected.
I will prompt you for the information I require. I will ask you about
- Your business identity
- Your history
- Your competitive advantage
- Your target market
- The benefits of choosing your product or service, and
- Keyword repetition* as per your web designer’s suggestions.
Sometimes I write copy that hits the nail on the head, first time.
Other times my writing will prompt your input – what you like, what you don’t. You then give me feedback and we throw it around. It is often in these discussions that brilliant ideas are birthed…
