Testimonials

‘Wow….we have never experienced a more thoughtful and helpful host. Rebekah made us feel very much at home as soon as we arrived. The guest space is tastefully decorated, with lots of natural light and high end finishes. Everything we needed was generously supplied which made our stay even more personalised. The place is within walking distance to the local golf club. A bit further walk to local cafes and restaurants on the esplanade – lots to choose from. A great base to explore Torquay and nearby beaches.’

‘I had a wonderful stay with Rebekah and Brett over the Christmas period. This airbnb isn’t just a room to sleep in, it’s a well thought out, wholesome and homely experience. Rebekah went above and beyond every day to make me feel comfortable during my stay (thank you so much again) and can be both an introvert or an extrovert depending on what feels right to suit the guests’ needs ! This house is close to the beach but far away enough from the hustle of the town centre. Torquay is a beautiful part of Australia and a perfect gateway to explore some of Australia’s best beaches and surf breaks. Book this airbnb for sure and know you will be in great hands ☺️’

‘Absolutely fantastic place! We felt right at home and enjoyed our time in Torquay. Rebekah and Brett are the most kind-hearted hosts we have ever met and we are so glad that we chose to stay at this Airbnb. We would love to visit again!’

‘Rebekah’s place was perfect for a couple’s getaway. It is a drive to the Esplanade and nice and quiet. Bec was very responsive and assisted us when needed. The most welcome and at home experience we’ve felt at an AirBnB. This will definitely be the first place we search when doing a short stay down the Torquay way!’

We’re closing Saltbush for winter so we can get to be guests for a change. Greece and Turkey here we come! (Thanks to fabulous house/cat sitters!)
Time to stop, let go, sink and sleep...
Time for a weekend by the sea-side?
Whilst our guest suite is 50 square metres of self-contained privacy for individuals or couples, our main lounge and kitchen area is shared. Some couples like to cook rather than dine out so this area is appreciated not just for meals but for working guests. Interestingly we've had a string of university students and writers wanting a break from the Melbourne craze (think shared households, noisy flatmates and roadworks) to study over the summer break so this dining table has been a perfect alternative for laptops and notebooks. To think, and pause and breathe and be inspired. But most of all to rest.
Beautiful summer days right now in Torquay with the odd day of drenching raining. Local preparation continues for the Great Ocean and Otway Classic Ride which rolls into town at the end of this month. With 4 days of cycling events and 3,500+ people registered to tackle the main 145 km event, the race starts in Lorne with 100 pro-cyclists expected to finish by 3pm that day. The race passes through the towns of Deans Marsh, Modewarre, Bells Beach and Jan Juc. All those participating will sleep deeply that night!
